Last shot

In 7 hours I will be giving myself my last shot. I am one of the lucky ones, genotype 2 so only had to put up with this hell for 24 weeks....how I respect all you 1's etc. who have gone a year and longer ( 88 weeks come to mind). It's a ride NOBODY can understand unless you are one of us.

A friend said the other day when I told them about finishing, " Geez, that went by fast and you were fine the whole time!" HAAA!!! Guess I am the only one who notices the bags under my eyes, the massive weight loss, the patchy head and the depression that is my constant companion.

Anyway, the reason I am posting is to thank all those who have ever responded to me. I haven't done it that much and unfortunately when I did it was mostly when I needed to let things out and express my fears about my husband and what we were going through. It's not easy to go to friends and family who also have an emotional stake in your lives, it gets to the point where many don't want to hear as it scares them to much to be so deeply involved. Being able to come here and talk made me feel so much better, to be supported instead of having to support.

I wish you all good luck and peace in the future. There is a light at the end of the tunnel and every week it gets closer.

Mattie

Hello to all,

I do wish you luck & welcome you aboard the USS FREEDOM. Pls keep us posted on how it feels to be LIBERATED once again. I hope that the rest of us aren't to far behind & will be freed ASAP.
I too was treated by a Jewish Dr....LOL....& he had similar qualities to your own physician.
BTW, we all LEARN lessons after GREAT TRAGEDIES in our lives & what can be a greater tragedy than sickness or death.
I'm confident you'll pass your 12 mths PCR evaluation with ease. Stay optimistic & the rest will follow,

Good Luck & good health from the Mid East,

The kid

It's a fantastic feeling, isn't it Donl? Congratulations to you too, it's been a frikken roller-coaster ride, hasn't it? I have some real funny recollections of while I was in the "city" and places I would scope out for my "poke". Talk about a crazy lady, I'll always remember those days.

Thanks for all your support, everyone. I am very thankful that now I can move into my next phase of life (waiting for hubby's transplant), without enduring tx any longer. I don't know if I could have handled it much longer, under the circumstances, it's been a valuable life lesson to me. Who'd of thunk I was so strong????

You posted somewhere about reading of people well into double digits when counting shots and being a tad envious? --- Can I ever relate to that particular post:)  Now here we are, you're done, Rev's done, Chevy's done, Couch is done and so many more... I'm on shot #31 and can remember my first shot as though it were yesterday; Unbelievable!*!

Many congratulations and best wishes for SVR to all those completing tx, considering tx and a special wish to those who did everything they could but learned that tx had failed them;  SVR will be yours too, never give up hope...
Kindest regards to all.

Hey Mattie,

Glad to hear that your fight is over & I wish you the best of luck. Pls stay around this forum in an "Special Advisor" capacity & pass on your wisdom vis-a-vis this Tx to Newbies. God only knows how they will need it.....& so do we. I'm post Tx for 5 mths,
post HCV-2b for 10 mths since I cleared the virus in 4 wks after Tx. As you have stated we're the "LUCKY ONES" belonging to the "2 Bee CLUB". I'm  awaiting my post 6 mths PCR VERDICT due in Nov..

Good luck to you & your Family,
& pls stay around....it's free of charge.
