Had my biopsy done back in May '02. Dr told me that on a scale of 0-5 (5 worst) I was between a 1&2. Could anyone comment more in (layman's) detail what all this means:
A. Focal interface hepatitis & mild lobular necroinflammatory
activity (grade 2)
B. Mild Portal Fibrosis (stage 1).
C. Mild Steatosis
The liver biopsy is characterized by mild expansion of the portal areas by a lymphoplasmacytic infiltrate. Focal interface Hepatitis is observed along with mild lobular necroinflammatory activity. Mild mixed macrovesicular/microvesicular steatosis is noted throughout the biopsy material. Mild portal fibrosis and focal subsinusoidal fibrosis are noted on trichrome and reticulin stained sections. Negative for iron and copper.
Specifically what do A-C mean?
Thanks for all of your comments. Hope everyone got thru the weekend OK. Myself, I'm freezing my you-know-what off again here in the Detroit area - below zero windchills! And snow is on the way tomorrow. Just keeps getting better and better!
