Liver Enzymes

I had blood work taken in June and my liver enzymes can back fine. Then in Nov my liver enzymes came back doubled what they were before. For the second set of blood work I was on Vicodine for an injury but I was off of it for 4 days before I had my blood work done. Is this normal for your liver enzymes to double after taking vicodin? Thanks for any help

I would not think that a short term of Vicodin at the properly prescribed dose should double your enzymes but, I am not sure about this. Prolonged Vicodin usage and/or dosing over the prescribed dose can result in liver enzyme elevation. Vicodin contains Tylenol which when taken in large doses can be toxic to your liver but moderate doses should not generally cause a problem.
Most of us here, including me, are not doctors so bear that in mind when you read anything here.
