Liver Pain

I am about to complete the last 6 days of 12 week treatment of sov/riba. Strangely, for the last week I have been feeling spiratic liver pain, which is very odd since I have not felt liver pain in a long, long time. Has anyone experienced this?

Knowing others before me have experienced this puts me at ease. I have done so well through this process and have been so proactive with my daily care, water intake, diet, taking meds same time every day, that  feeling my liver just below the right lower rib spooked me. Will forge on. Last dose is Friday, blood work on Saturday and appointment with Dr. on the following Thursday. Will keep you posted. Thanks once again, all.

Hi there!  As stated above you could call your doctor, at the same time, it is true that there could be other reasons for pain there due to the intestines being so close.  Gas pain can be very painful.
I hope you feel better soon.
Congrats for being so close to the end of tx.

Liver pain has various causes and I will mention a few.  The liver actually has no nerve endings, so when you experience pain it's not the liver itself.  There is a sac that surrounds the liver which could cause pain if your liver has inflammation or is enlarged.   In the upper right quadrent you also have the intestines and the gall bladder.  So very hard to speculate as there's a myriad of ailments that can cause pain in the liver.  Sometimes when I feel pain in and around the liver usually for me its indigestion especially if it comes and goes.
Keep in mind you are in the final stretch of Tx, and these meds have an accumulative effect.  In other words, all hell breaks loose.  Your kinda at your wits end and may not be as focused on fluid intake along with sound healthy eating.  For me, that final week or two did cause somewhat more distress and physical commotion.
Should it get worse or you become concerned would definately give your Dr
a call.
Happy to see your almost finished.  It's really surprising how time seems to
fly while on Tx.  Do keep in mind that when Tx ends the meds are still in your system and have a residual effect.  The Ribavirin tends to hang around for an additional 3-6 months post EOT.
Do hope your liver issues will be resolved.
Take care

Hi D..yep I have had some pain as well an I panicked. I thot Tx isn't working? Talked to Dr he said you might have pain from time to time.  I am close to starting my 9th wk and have minimal pain, doc asked if I wanted an MRI told him I would wait to c if it got better. It did..if it continues and really bothers you perhaps you should call the doc and see what he says
Good luck and be well
PEACE
