Liver Stressors

Had trouble leaving a note, so posting here.  Stonewall asked me to enumerate some stressors on the liver.  Here goes.

Let me tell you my story: I've had hep c most of my life but never had problems with it.  About 3 years ago I developed back problems and docs fixed it with naproxen sodium, which later went on the market as Aleve.  I kept following the doctor's dosing and actually killed my liver with it.  Adding a couple galsses of wine a day just exascerbated the situation.  When I was diagnosed I immediately stopped drinking.  Took me another 10 days to catch on and stop taking naproxen sodium.  Bloodwork numbers continued to go up for another 3 weeks and then they started to fall and fell steadily.

No NSAID's (Aleve, etc.), no aspirin (it's a blood thinner and liver damage already causes clotting problems), I heard that ibuprofin is a cousin to aspirin so no to that.  You can take tylenol, but no more than 4 extra strengths a day and if you don't need it much, don't take it.  Obviously no alcohol at all. Stay clear of chemicals that have fumes of any sort (if you can smell it in your nose, you are breathing it into your blood).  Don't spray insecticides, use spray paint, use furniture strippers, etc.  Don't handle toxic chemicals at all, let someone else do that.

The concept here is that the virus has highjacked your liver cells so the cells cannot do their job, which is filtering chemicals and toxins out of your blood.  If you already have damaged cells, be sure you are not trying to push any toxins through there because they will scar the cells instead of being filtered out.
