Liver enzymes still low at 8 weeks post-EOT

Hi, medhelpers! It's spring in the U.S. and I hope you are all in better spirits now that the freezing cold of this nasty winter is leaving.

I just got the results of a blood test I did at 8 weeks post-EOT (12 weeks of Sovaldi + Olysio). My AST/ALT are 24/11, only very slightly up from their levels after three months on Tx (21/10). Also, my platelets are up to 147k, a level I have not seen for three years. So, I am relieved (to say the least), and expect that my 3-month VL at the end of April will show undetected and SVR.

Cheers.

Mike

Thank you all for your good wishes. I could never have made it through seven years of struggle, and then dealing with the health system in the U.S., if it hadn't been for you wonderful people on Medhelp.

Cheers and god bless you all.

Sounds great Mike. looking and hoping you get 12-week SVR. My docs still have me waiting until 24 weeks as I am cirrhotic, but I only have 1 month also. I hope we get to celebrate together.

I forgot to mention, in my note, congrats on the platelets, too!  That is a really good thing, and fast!  Only 3 more weeks til EOT12.  It might even stop snowing up ther by then! hee hee.

Blessings,

Forgot to mention I love your platelet count.  From around a 100 pre-tx and during tx to 147 4 weeks post.

I have high hopes for you Mike! Glad your platelets are rising too, hang there with the New York winter/spring. Hope you are SVR in a month, and are over your respiratory issues too.

I am so happy for you and believe you will be SVR12.  It's been a long journey with many bumps along the way.  Like getting the Meds for free finally, dealing with shipping (meds in truck all day during hot NYC summer, getting labs and etc.

You have been very persistent and a little "whiny" at times :-) but your going to make it. Enjoy the grand-kids, get back to Buenos Aires and have fun.

Enzymes look great.
Odds are huge you will be SVR12 in 4 weeks.

Congratulations.
