Liver specialist/bladder infection

Glad I went to the liver specialists office yesterday. They didn't say anything about the labs for the bladder infection that they received about me 2 weeks ago. So I had a copy of the labs in my hand and I asked her about it. Turns out he said I can be treated for the bladder infection. He told me before I could take that medicine on tx. Anyway I have suffered the past 6 weeks with this bladder infection for nothing. Thank God it didn't reach my kidneys. It's not going to go away on it's own. I started the meds for the b/i yesterday. I have more labs done in 3 weeks for that. It makes you get up about 5 times in the night to urniate.

Thanks for the information. I will certainly check it out. But I'm feeling much, much better just being on the antibiotics for 2 days. My lab said lots of bacteria. I will definitely try it.

I used to get both bladder and kidney infections all the time in my younger years.  It was like an annual September rite, lol.  Finally, a nurse shared with me about cranberry juice - plain, not cran-apple or one of those - to drink a big glass daily.  It's been about 30 years now since I've had a UTI or anything along those lines.

Oh, if one does sneak up on you, buy and drink the entire jug of c.juice in one day.  If it's really bad, drink another jug the next day.  Then start on the "one a day" thing.  It sure worked for me.  Can't hurt you, as far as I know ... your doctor can tell you for sure.

Hope this helps.  (After you're rid of this one, of course.)

I already had the bladder infection when I started tx. It was already cultured. It's ecoli. The bladder specialist is on top of it. I'm so glad I can finally take my meds for it now. The latest labs said lots of bacteria. It just won't go away on it's own. The meds are helping. Thanks for asking.

I'm doing O.K. on tx. Just have a little vomiting the day after my shot in the afternoon. I can't figure out if it is the shot or the riba. It's so many hours from when I took the 3 riba in the morning, I just can't see it being that.

Sounds like you are hanging in there. How has treatment been other than the bladder infection?

Did your Dr. do a culture and sensitivity when they drew labs?  Your report should say what kind of infection you have and what antibiotic it is sensitive to.  In other words there are many different kinds of infections and they all don't respond to the same medication. I feel badly for you that you've had to suffer with this for two weeks. Make sure you have the right medication to fight your infection or this could drag on forever.
Good luck, treatment is hard enough- -(from what I hear, I'm still "waiting for the right time") without this additional pain in the.....bladder!

You poor baby. I can't imagine having to suffer with a UTI for that long. Glad you finally got some meds.

I stop drinking most liquids at 6 PM every night because of the urinary incontinence. I got to bed somewhere between 8:30 and 9 every night.

Way to go as far as having your records in hand and questioning them.
Don't you love it when we have to tell our doctors what we need to do? UGH!!! That makes me so mad.
Grrrrr!
