Lymphedema & Sovaldi / Ribavirin

I began a 12 week treatment of Sovaldi /Ribavirin treatment for HCV 20 days ago. On the 17th day I developed a rash on my lower left leg. by the 18th day, my body was covered over 85% with the itchy red rash. I called the Sovaldi helpline and a nurse called me back.  She said that they have not had any case reporting a rash on Sovaldi.
I went to see my prescribing APRN and she saw the rash and had me stop the Ribavirin but continue Sovaldi.  The next day, I was unable to get out of bed due to the severe appearance of lymphedema in the same leg where the rash appeared.
I am now waiting for the ambulance to take me to the ER on advice of my APRN.

I am unable to put my feet onto the floor because of the intensity of the pain in both legs.  I tried, but I screamed so loudly, I didn't want the neighbors to call the police.

Please reply with any feedback, no matter how insignificant it might seem to you. I am going nuts trying to figure out wtf is happening to me.

Thanks.

I am so glad that you sought medical attention straight away

My liver team told me to go the emergency room if I developed a rash

Be well!

UPDATE : Sovaldi has been determined to be the cause of my allergic reaction.  I have been on Ribavirin 3 times previous without any issues allergic reactions or otherwise.
I can hardly stand typing due to the extreme sloughing of my hands. Will update and post pictures once I am well enough.

Yes sounds like an allergic reaction, maybe to the ribavirin. Let us know what it is.

There have been no side effects such as this reported with Sovaldi. Ever. If it is indeed the Sovaldi, you would be a first.

Sounds like an allergic reaction to me. What other drugs are you taking?
