Not usually thin just only 5'1 tall I work for the County and it is BcBs of Ga we always have problems. My mother has BCBS of In but she was federal never had a problem even when my dad had cancer maybe it is just Ga.
are you unusually thin? because that is not the standard dose of rebetol. It's less. what kind of dr are you seeing for your hepc?
You guys know whats funny is that I have bcbs and I've had (knock on wood) no problems at all with anything having to do with my meds (approved in five seconds) even the epogen, my repeated hospitalizations while on treatment. I have one of those large group plans though and I'm on their cobra/
Congratulations on resolving your ordeal with Blue. Cross Blue Shield. I recently went through the same ordeal with them, delaying my treatment for about 2 months
I agree with Zazaa about your dosage I take 600 mg twice a day. You should contact your Dr. for a confirmation on the dosage.
Are you sure it is not 600 mg Rebetol twice a day?
Congratulations to the approval! That said you need to check out your Rebetol dose. Something is strange with your dosing. Generally, 800 mg Rebetol is the lowest dose given, while 150 mcg PegIntron is the highest. May I ask how much you weigh? Are you genotype 1?
An easy way to look at if you are getting the correct weight based doses is to do these calculations:
1. Calculate your weight in kilos (your weight in lbs divided by 2.2).
2. Divide your ribavarin dose by your weight in kilos. (This should hopefully equal between 13 and 15 mg ribavarin.)
3. Multiply your weight in kilos with 1.5. (This should equal your PegIntron dose stated in micrograms.)
Be sure to sort this out before you start tx. Good luck!
