Generally, the preloaded syringes come four in a box.  You remove the rubber top, push on the needle, aim, fire.  Each syringe has an expiration date printed on it.  Refrigeration is required.  Do not freeze.  I think that Pegasys is even easier than PegIntron.

Check out the website pegasys.com  There you will find everything about pegasys, it even has a little video on how to administer it etc.

Depending on the pharmacy that is filling your prescription for pegasys...you can either get it in the "pegasys box"  "4 prefilled syringes" as mentioned aboved.... OR the pharmacy will fill their own syringes with the medicine and ship the pre-filled syringes to you....
I have had both... and I was shocked when I received the prefilled syringes from the pharmacy --not the "pegaysis boxed" syringes..so I called the "pegasys hot line" right away... and we conference called the pharmacy that filled the order... and found out that "yes" they do sell "pegasys" to pharmacy's in bulk and they can pre-fill their own syringes..
I'm still undected! so it's working!
Best of luck on your treatment.  Dorsey

I didn't know that about the pharmacy being able to pre-fill their syringes.  Isn't that a little scary?  I mean when you think of the quality of the pharmacy techs that you interact with (or at least the ones that I get at Walgreen and CVS), isn't it a little scary to think of them filling your syringes and not getting anything contaminated?

Sorry about the bummer thought :(  but that's the first thing that came to my mind.

The second thing that comes to my warped mind is, considering that these syringes are like $400 a pop (here in California) , what if some $9/hour Rx tech decided to go into a little side business and started cutting the mixture with sterile saline?

I know a lot of times we don't get a choice in these things - my medical care isn't the best bit I have no other choice - but if I had a choice my paranoid nature would want me to take only the ones that come loaded from the manufacturer.  But that's just me and my weird nature.

I take pegasys as part of my trial protocol and it does not come in prefilled syringes. I have to draw my own syringes each time I have done my shots. I am not sure if that is because of the trial I am on or not but that is my experience.

Thanks Dragonslayer--- we all don't have to have them already "prefilled" for us all neatly done wrapped in a pretty little box "...
