Medication after SVR

   Has anyone out there that has attained SVR noticed they need more medication now ? Could it be that when you have stage 3 fibrosis or worse that your body doesn't need as much medication because your Liver has tbl breaking it down.
  
   Now that I am 14 months post tx and SVR my cholesterol has gone up from 110 to 200 which means my liver is functioning better and making more cholesterol. If my Liver is now functioning better could that be why when I have to take an occasional pain killer it takes almost twice as much to feel it or get relief now then when I was pre tx.

   Anyone else who has experienced this. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You've got that exactly right.  While on treatmnent, I look up every possible drug the doctor wants me to add and of course search the cautions and side effects for liver damage.  They all say to start people with impaired liver function on a half dose because the drugs will stay in their systems longer than for unimpaired people.

Sounds like that and the increased cholesterol are some good indicators of liver repair for you.  That's great.  I will hate to give up my low cholesterol numbers and wish I had known that they were an indicator that something bad was going on.  Such a tricky disease!

My cholesterol went way way up too - I find it very disturbing to have this happen but I am getting older and I guess it happens.

Darn! Now all of us cured hep c people will have to watch our cholesterol like every one else.  ***** in a good way.
