Cirrhosis takes about 30-35yrs to kill.  Each fibrosis and chirrhosis stage/grade takes 3-7yrs, longer in the beginning and shorter towards the end.  And no medicine cures cirrhosis per say.  If the underlying cause of cirrhosis is eliminated, a certain amt of healing can take place.  B/cirrhotic scar tissue seems to be there to stay!  Most symptoms can be treated thru diet and/or medication.  Cirrohtic and ESLD (end stage liver disease) patients usually use a combo of the 2.

you might want to post your question in the gastroenterology forum. a physician answers questions for a small fee.
The hepatitis forum at this time is comprised mostly of hep c patients or relatives, and the comments you see are from the members, none of which can give medical advice.
I don't think any doctor can tell you how long cirrhosis takes to develop, it depends on the individual and his/her health related habits.
