My primary doctor recommended Provigil to help with the lack of focus, and energy caused by tx.I am week 29 of 70ish, Anyone have experience or knowledge of this drug??

Provigil is a drug used to tx narcolepsy, and other sleep disorders. I know someone who had been taking it before tx, then changed ins, and her new ins would not pay. Her dr had her try ritilan, but it didn't work the same way for her and she stopped. Ritilan is much stronger and is a stimulant. Provigil targets the area of the brain that keeps you awake, and it's suppose to enhance alertness, and keep you on target on the job. Do you work?
Others have posted that their dr prescribed it, one wife said her dr prescribed it for her husband's fatigue. I think he was helped by the provigil, although initially, she couldn't see why it would help. She thought it was low hgb that was causing the fatigue.
Provigil was one of the drugs found in Anna Nicole Smiths multi-pharmacy.
I would certainly give it a try, it has low side effects and sounds like it's worth a try.

No this is not #1, #2, OR #3  it's 33.and now I can tell you about my bx with my gi in a few week.Or ask why am I getting this done if my liver counts are low  well I suppose it's my ammonia levels. But I don't understand why I was tested for hep C and B I did have a virus as a child but there were no test for hepatitis then. And why did I have to return for another red cell count after the first one blew up (what does that mean) am I just a fat 33cat. Thanks for the information it really cleared up alot. I agree with you LoL is a riot.

I get a B12 shot once a month and I get so much energy I feel like I can go home without my car. I hope yours helps you.

Hi..the person I just tryed to flag has tried this...with a script from her dr. I think she may ave discontinued use 'cause she just didn't want to put any possible strain on her liver. i hope others will give you more info. I am gonna try B-12 shot on Wednesday. My doc said it was somewhat benign. I sure hope I get some energy from it. Never did it before. All the best to you and have a nice weekend w/little or no sx!

Its not like that drug they give to hyper children i hope, you sure dont need to feel anymore shakey than you have to be on tx...
