Many HCV patients go thru HCV therapy while taking Methadone and other opioid substitutes,.however there are some guidlines
Opioid Substitutes
Methadone and buprenorphine are both partially metabolized by CYP3A4.9 With boceprevir, concentrations of methadone or buprenorphine may either increase or decrease.1 With telaprevir, methadone concentrations are reduced.2 Patients on methadone or buprenorphine should be monitored during anti-HCV triple therapy to determine if a dose adjustment of the opioid substitute is needed.1,2

Ask your doctor. I can't imagine yanking somebody off of methadone. Are doctor's that heartless? I sure hope not. Ask questions, ask questions, ask questions....
Hello, and welcome to the forum.
I don't know a lot about Methadone and HCV treatment, but I DO know people do it successfully in combination. Just as people are dosed with Naltrexone whilst on HCV treatment.
If your husband decides that he wants to treat for HCV, and is 'allowed' by the doctor, then further tests will be undertaken before he begins.
This means that he will be putting a team together who will work together.
He will be tested to find out what genotype he is carrying (this will decide what treatment he undertakes), a staging and grading test (here in Australia it's the Metavir) which allows him to know fibrosis levels in his liver, and an ultrasound or a biopsy to see what the damage is to his liver.
THEN informed decisions can be made. As there are new less invasive treatments in trials in the US as we speak, if there is not much damage, then he may be able to wait for new meds.
He may then, during this time, decide to do something about the Methadone. Although Methadone is relatively 'easy' on the liver, it does affect one's immune system. As these HCV treatment drugs can be harsh, you want your body to be in the best fighting position.
Try to write down all the questions you want to ask in advance of your appointments, and get copies of all your blood tests.
Don't hesitate to come back to this forum and ask any questions you need. there are a number of much wiser people than I here who are always around to help.
We aren't doctors, just people in boats awash on the same big sea.
Good luck.
