Methadone treatment and hep c

My brother is a recovering heroin addict and is on methadone treatment now for approx. six years. Recently his has diplayed symtoms of fatigue and dizziness along with spotting ( brown spots) along his legs. He is positive for HepC. Has stopped all other agravating activities I.E. alcohol comsumption and NSAIDS.
However his diet is probably not the best in the world. Are there any correlations between methadone use and liver damage in patients diagnosed with HepC???
