Methotrexate

eai
I have a chronic inflammatory condition that affects primarily my eyes.  Also have low IgG1 through IgG4 and have intermittent IgG infusions. I have had years of treatment with MTX, ranging from 50 mg a week to 15 mg a week.  Off immunosuppression for several years.  Now comtemplating resumption of MTX. Total Bilirubin has been trending up, but not very high; 1.6 currently.  (RR=0.2-1.2)

What is the state of the art with regard to determining safety for MTX use.  There seems to be controversy with regard to liver biopsy or not.

Thanks for this great forum.

Liz

I personally feel MTX is responsible for kicking my AutoImmune Hepatitis into active stage, but no medical proof of that.  I'm sorry I can't give any actual medical information that you really need.  Maybe someone else on here can.  Guys???
God Bless,
Pattie
