Milk Thistle w/alcohol

Okay, I'm sure this has been covered somewhere in these threads...  Haven't been here for a while and was hoping for some enlightenment:  I just purchased milk thistle tablets and a bottle of organic liquid milk thistle.  Read the bottle of the liquid version closer when I got home: 88% organic alcohol content.  How can something be marketed for good liver function yet contain alcohol.  Am I missing something?  What is the liquid form supposed to be used for?

I read a lot of positive info about Milk Thistle.  I gave it to my cat who was dying of a damaged liver.  He's doing fine 2 years after diagnosis.  I know that may sound humerous but it seems to be prolonging his life.  The vet gave up on him.  His liver is clearing and he is very active.

i took milk thistle for a year and it did nothing for me...i have to wonder how much of "feeling better "in your head..which still may be worth it..like faith healing..i think diet (lots of veggies) and exercise might work better..good luck though...billy

they use a freeze dried method. it's been almost a week and my upper right quadrant pain has diminished. it's working for me.

Alcohol is required in order for the extraction process to happen at the highest level,this is why alcohol extracts are better than the pills.Ther are also water based ones too,but not as effective.
