Milk Thistle

I have a sister who is a nurse, and she said at a recent conference she heard that Milk Thistle could hurt the liver. I have Hep C- relapser after 48 weeks of combo treatment.
I would like to use Milk Thistle, but now I am unsure. Any comments?

Milk Thistle is good for the liver, as it helps the liver to rid itself of toxins. You do not want to take it while on treatment though, as it will rid the liver of the treatment drugs. You want them to stay in you liver as long as possible, as you want the drugs to work.

You can find a lot of information on the net, if you google Milk Thistle and Milk Thistle drug interaction.

I'm sorry to hear you relapsed.

I've used it for 3 years now. I'm a 4t-time relapser and the doctor knows I take it and never told me to stop...
