Missed Riba

Dang I was so excited this morning as we got 26" of snow Monday thru Monday night that I forgot my a.m. Riba.  I just noticed.  I'm in week 23.  Should I wake up say at 1 a.m. and take a make up ?  

I'm thinking it's not to big of a deal at this point.  But I had to ask....you know how it is.

You've got a good blood serum level of riba going on by now.  I don't think it would hurt anything to miss a dose and it won't hurt you to wake up at 1:00 and take them either.  Your call.  As info, I think many of us miss a dose sometime during our treatment.  I did at Christmas '08 and popped them intermittently throughout the next day.  Made up the missed dose and I'm still alive to tell the tale!

Yep, timing is really not all that critical at all once you get a few weeks under your belt. As a matter of fact, my study nurse just calls it a "morning" and "evening" dose and doesn't really pay much attention to the times. I do try to take it at 8AM and 8PM +/- 1 hour.

I don't always make it. Today I didn't dose until almost 11 AM, but that is a rarity.

I thought riba had to be taken after meals?

It's recommended to take with a meal. I take mine with a meal, but I don't eat at the same exact time each day.

Ooops! I would skip a day or two now and then if something important was going on, and  wanted to  feel half-way normal for it. That might explain my situation now. Never was big on rules and all that. Well I guess this is  another lesson to learn, along with the not-sharing-needles one. You'd think something as  complicated as life would have better instructions included in the box.

I take my Riba in the middle of my meal.  That night I woke up ate a banana.

Just dont miss any more of them if you can help it but it really doesn't matter if you miss one dose at this point. In fact most all doctors say don't sweat it just take the next dose as normal.

And you should try and take them at the same time every day just to avoid this situation - not only taking them with the meal helps with the fat but also it helps keep you in a pattern of taking them.
