The doctors all say not to worry too much about missing one dose - ribavirin has a very long half life and it will still be in your system doing it's job.  If it makes you feel better and it's night time you could take the dose but if it's not when you receive this don't worry too much.  Just make sure you don't miss another dose.

I took mine with breakfast and with dinner - even if I was not hungry I knew that others were eating and it helped to remind me not to forget.

Do not worry too much.

Take it now.

Sorry, I didn't notice you are in India.  Maybe the whole day is gone there.  Try to be careful from now on.  It is very important to adhere to the medication schedule.

I agree... take it now. You want your blood concentration or riba to increase as fast as possible, so you really don't want to miss a dose early in treatment.

Is it night time in india now? If so I would take your normal dosage and make sure you don't miss any more. If it is only 4-5 hours late, take the riba now and take the next dose a little later.

"What happens if I miss a dose of Ribavirin?

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take the medicine at your next regularly scheduled time. If you have not taken the medication for longer than 24 hours, call your doctor for instructions. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose."

sorry I wasn't very clear.
I meant to say:

Is it night time in india now? If so I would take your night time dosage and make sure you don't miss any more in the future. If it is only 4-5 hours late, take the missed dosage now and take the evening dose a little later.

How many hours apart would that be? I'm on the other side of the world so I don't know what time it is there. One time I slept really late and didn't take my morning dose till about noon, and then took my evening dose at the normal 6:00 PM and had no adverse effects.

The poster says that this is the 3rd day of tx, so there isn't much riba built up in his blood yet. Don't you think that makes it more of a concern to take it?

The fact is i decided to stop taking medicine altogether after having muscle and joint pains apart from sleepless night and headache.I was confused and wanted to try alternative medication-Ayurveda or homeopathy but now i'm feeling fine after taking a tablet of Crocin(as prescribed by the Doc.) and intent to carry on with ribravin and pegasys

There isn't all that much you can do about it if they've already missed it is there, The DeLorean isn't going to hit 88mph and turn them back to this morning no matter what you do.  The doctors say not to try and make it up doubling the dose - that makes NO difference.

Didn't your doctor tell you that what you described would happen? That is a common side effect of the shot, especially the first one. Just take the pain meds before your next shot and it will help keep things from getting as bad. You might want to do some reading through the archives of this forum so you will know better what to expect in the future. These are powerful drugs that we are taking, true. Unfortunately they are the only known drugs that are able to kill the virus, and if we don't kill ALL of the virus, it will come back and continue to kill liver cells. We can't live without our livers.

A little beside the point.  You take (or at least are prescribed) 800 mg of riba per day.  You should make sure you take them all, as scheduled.  And, if you weigh more than 61 kg or 135 you might think about having a talk with your doc about an appropriate weight-based dose.

What I would do is take the missed dose as soon as I realized. Then I would take about 3 days to get back on schedule. If I was twelve hours late I would take it. Take my next dose 8 hours late. My next one four hours late and then my next would be back on track. Worked for me.

Sorry I'm backtracking on the thread I missed your last comment to me (it is hard typing at work sometimes).

Hang in there with the meds.  Sometimes the first week can be the worst but as far as the intereferon goes it should get better for you.  Alternative therapies will not work to cure you of the virus.  Can you take some tylenol with your next shot to try and avoid some side effects if they should come?  Also make sure you are drinking half your body weight in ounces a day in water to keep well hydrated this can cause you to get headaches as well.

Don't sweat the ribavirin too much as the morning is already gone and nothing can bring it back again - but make sure you don't miss any more doses.  You can do this, it's not easy but if I could I am sure you can too.

Take your next one on schedule and forget the missed dose.

You missed two pills.  You just took 2 which is your regular evening dose.  To make up the missed two pills, I woul take another right away (making it three in the evening) and then I would take 3 in the morning, instead of the usual two.  At that point you'll be up to date.

I took my first injection on a Thursday around noon, that's when my appointment with the treatment nurse was. I took my next one (and every one thereafter) on Friday at 9PM (because then I could deal with the sides on the weekend). I was always starting my Riba for the week a day before my injection and I took my last one six days after my last injection. It's not an exact science. I think I read that as long as you have at least an 80% adherence to the protocol your in good territory. don't sweat the small stuff but try to keep on track as much as possible.

At 67 kg 800 is at least in the neighborhood.

The doc told you that because the time doesn't have to be that precise. Since there are two doses I personally try to take them close to every 12 hours, but It really doesn' matter that much since the riba stays in your body so long anyway.
