Thanks for answering... I still need to bounce  these ideas back & forth...I don't know if my scarring score of 2 is high 2 ...closer to 3. One Dr told me last May, "If you get treated within one year you'll be ok." Now: Is one year later. Right now, I have the chance to participate in a clinical study... 85% success with 3rd Rx, .... 80% chance to end up in a group receiving 3rd Rx, 20% chance of getting SOC....If I end up SOC, and non responder ... Chances go down to aprox 50% chance success with 3Rx later...
Here in Canada, Telaprevir is at least 2 years away...

Hi Marie....I am also in Canada(Tor) and the folks at the liver clinic were I attend tell me that in their opinion the new DAA"s will be avail in Canada within about 6 mo. to a year of release in the U.S..however no -one can say for sure..could it be 2 yrs? ...possibly however the consensus is that it will be sooner than that.
  You have to weigh the pro"s and cons of entering a trial,..on the plus side their is no cost to the participant and the care is usually excellent. On the other hand their is a possibility of getting the placebo,and their are usually some restrictions in a trial.

The fibrosis is graded on a 5-point scale from 0 to 4. The activity, which is the amount of inflammation (specifically, the intensity of necroinflammatory lesions), is graded on a 4-point scale from A0 to A3.
Fibrosis score:
F0 = no fibrosis
F1 = portal fibrosis without septa
F2 = portal fibrosis with few septa
F3 = numerous septa without cirrhosis
F4 = cirrhosis
