Muscle Aches

I'm afraid to take drugs. I quit Cymbalta because of the waring on the lable. Zoloft is supposed to be o.k.? I have muscle aches and it's probably pyscosymatic. Should I  just take milk thistle? Or liv-54?

iI take codiene because the pain is unbearable. Today, though, I took four  500mg vicodin, and got no relief. I don't have that much of a resistance, and am careful not to get addicted.

Thank you in advance, i really am desperarate.

For someone who is afraid of drugs, you seem to face your fears pretty well.  Ia you question somehow related to hepatitis?

Your question is kind of broad with no specific information on what the problem is. Cymbalta and Zoloft are completely different drugs than Vicodin.  Are you depressed?  What concerns you about the safety of these drugs?  What does the doctor who prescribes them to you say?

All drugs have risks. That is why doctors prescribe them only after weighing the health risks with the expected benefit taking into consideration the individual situation and needs of the patient.  I would recommend seeing your doc.

btw - if you keep taking Vicodin 500 mg four at a time, you could end up learning way more about liver disease than you would want to.  Take it from me, a liver transplant due to fulminant liver failure is not something you want.  Your chances survival while waiting for a donor organ are not very good, and the surgery leaves a huge scar on your belly.

Something tells me that if you are over 21, it is not by much. Forgive me if this is wrong. It is not intended to offend you in any way.  Nuff said.

Stay healthy!

It is a rather scattered question/post. Do you have Hep C? If so, you have to be extra careful what you take. I had/still sometimes have severe muscle pain and taking 1 vicodin helped, just took the edge off but I wouldn't allow myself more than 2 a day as per the acetaminophen  in them, along with not having my body get to used to them. Hot bathes help a lot also.   If 4 aren't helping you, you need something else. It sounds like you are not very informed on the drugs, need for so please get a Dr. to help with that.
Hep C can cause the muscle pain.
Milk thistle is good to take as long as your not treating.

You sound young (not an insult!) , confused in this and like you really need a lot more info. in all of this. If you have Hep C, you can learn endless information here, and many people to help. It's a great site for help. How about we back up, get more info. from you and go from there?

I have a 4 slipped disc in my neck and the intraferon makes them hurt worse than before my doctor says they are fine I only try to take them after the shots when it is the worst but GP and GI doctor said Vicodin is fine and my script is for 750mg I dont take any antidepressants though and yes Cymbalta is hard on the liver so is caffine, salt, so on. If your doctor prescribe it and he knows you are HCV poss listen to him

God Bless you
