Muscle pain is it a side effect of meds?

I've been having a strong muscle pain on my upper top leg in the last few days...
feels like the whole muscle has been hit with a hammer, (I don't have a bruise)
or it even feels like I've been doing extreme exercising...anybody had the same side effects from HCV meds?

Is it a side effect?

Thanks

Too funny! Thanks for sharing that (I think).

I used to do construction in Md in the summer. Hot and humid! Man do I know something about bung rashes - I'd carry baby powder in my nail bags. There were all these white dusty spots on the ground in hidden corners on the job sites. That was me, dusting the ol' back 40.

Speaking of the gluteus-I mentioned last week that my riba rash had attacked there. So yesterday at work we're hanging security lights on the side of a daycare at a church. I come off the ladder to get a few tools we need. Man! All of a sudden the rash jumps about 4 notches and now is actually painful. But with all the parents and kids coming and going I'm not about to start scratching. Very slowly I head to the truck, with every movement it feels like riba bumps are exploding. My Uncle looks off the roof and says impatiently, 'hey- I'd like to get home some time today!' I gotta do somehing. 'Just hold on I'll be right back!' I go inside find a rest room, go in the stall, undo the tool belt, drop the pants and notice a familiar smell. Christmas! Little sharp pine needles, blue spruce and evergreen needles drifting to the floor in piles. Building was surrounded by bushes and trees up close wher we wrere set up, don't know how they got where they got, but was real glad not everything is a sx.:)

What? No place to rest my sun glasses. Couldn't wear a hat. Ipod useless. No point in my best polka-dotted umberella. Nothing to twist at the tennis tourneys. This would not be cruel? Surely you jest.

I had muscle pain in my legs too, esp. at the beginning.  It was usuallly worse on one side-felt alot like extreme muscle fatigue.  Funny thing, the right leg felt something when I inject on the right side of my belly-since the first shot.  I just take some OTC pills and stretch it.
Hang in there; this side will probably be replaced with another soon!

I had bad muscle sides in my shoulder-neck area especially at the beginning of tx but it decreased as time went on.However, muscles seemed somewhat tight all during tx. I used a hot water bottle on my neck to ease the soreness. Be well Mauka, Frank

Could it be a injection site bruise?  It doesn't seem (to me) that those injection sites recover very quickly, and when I (by mistake) use the same site over, it seems to get red -- altho I have really never had pain there.

Muscle pain???   YUP   Definitely.  However, it's always good to keep your doctor informed about your symptoms.

Forgot, also had muscle cramping in calves, thighs and back muscles. Not all at once, thank God.

Mauka,

The muscle pains in my case, are all over.  Also, try eating a 1/2 banana a day and having some fruit juice every day.  Sometimes, our potassiums get low from all the water we drink.

I get huge muscle pains in my legs.  It seems to only happen during the night.  It generally wakes me up 2x per night.  Advil helps as well as hot, hot baths. Since its pretty much at night, I've attributed it to my shot - I give myself my shot everynight at bedtime.  Good luck!

I get a strong discomfort in the Gluteus sometimes. Surprisingly, I think it's tied to the optic nerve somehow. I read certain posts, and wham - it flares up again!

I noticed muscle pain in my legs when the anemia set in. As if I had not exercised in a long time and had just started doing so. If yours is specific to one muscle as opposed to both legs, could you have sprained it somehow? In any case, mention it to the dr and check what your latest hgb reading is.
