NY/NJ/PA/CT anyone on Ribavirin treatment EMERGENCY

Hi,

MODERATORS PLEASE DO NOT DELETE.

My mother is on a Hepatitis-C treatment with Ribavirin, and we have a big emergency. The assholes at UPS did not attempt delivery for her OVERNIGHT EXPRESS medicine yesterday, and she has no way of obtaining her medicine until MONDAY, since UPS doesn't deliver today, nor do they have any facilities open. (We are in North NJ)

As you know, it is imperative not to skip any doses. We are at wits end; the doctor isn't returning calls, no pharmacy around us has this medicine, and UPS has been 0 help.


If anyone here lives in the NY, PA, NJ, CT area and can help, please give me a call at 973 449 2373. This is an emergency.

Sorry about your problem. Do you have an rx? If so, try calling some of the larger pharmacies in New York City, including perhaps hospital pharmacies.  Also, have you tried your doctor? Sometimes they have extra supplies. You also might try UPS again as I believe they will deliver on Saturday. If nothing works, hopefully someone here will get in touch with you with another idea.

UPS is hopeless, they are firm that there is no way to pick up.

No pharmacy here stocks it, and the hospital didn't want to provide it without a new prescription from the doctor. All the documents we have do not suffice. :(

The darn doctor is missing in space; she is not picking up any phone calls since yesterday afternoon.

Are there any hepc support groups listed in your area?  You may be able to contact those organizations since most people affliated with them are probably treating or know someone who is.  I'm quite sure they would be more than glad to give your mom enough riba to get her through the weekend.
I have two extra bottles but I live in the south so it wouldn't help. I'm really sorry.  I sincerely hope someone will reach out and help your mom.

I don't know what you're going thru, but I'm very sorry to hear of this situation, but you don't have any control over it.  Unfortunately your Mother may have to miss 3 or 4 days of Ribavirin.  It's not good to do, but again it's something you can't control.  Two ideas, here's the first one.  Call a triage nurse at your local emergency hospital and see what they say.  Also, understand that since it is not over a week, they may not show much concern, stay calm as you're more likely to get assistance.  Number two idea, is to call a free clinic, the ones that work with poorer ppl, like harm reduction services and I bet they will help you, but you gotta work fast as alot of these free clinics, aren't open on Sunday.  When this blows over, talk to the doctor and make sure that this krap don't happen again.   good luck

I found a pharmacy that has it, but i am still waiting for the doctor's call because without a prescription, they won't provide us with the ribavirin.

I think these housecall MD's can write an rx but I'd be specific in advance what you want to achieve before spending any money.
