Nail Salon Incident

by wonder2345, Jul 29, 2008 06:05PM
I am quite concerned with my situation.  A few weeks ago I went to get my nails done and had a cut on my cuticle which was caused by a small piece of skin hanging and I pulled it off and it started to bleed.  I did this right before I went to get my nails done.  I really didn't think much of it since I went ahead and had them done but I told the tech not to go near it with the machine and I'm pretty sure she didn't.  However, since then I've been worried about possible Hep C transmission.  Should I be worried?  Please advise.

I still get my nails done on occasion and unless your teck has open cut and or wounds on their hands it would be hard to spreed however it is best to let naill teck know you have hep-c

I don't know if you should be too concerned but i know for a fact in a nail salon is how i contacted my Hep C but the tech that was doing my nails cut my cuticle with the drill that they use to round off your nails. I don't think you have anything to worry about but if you have any doubts better to be safe than sorry. Best of luck, May God bless you, I'll keep you in my prayers:):)

Thank you for sharing your stories and advice.  I just came back from the doctor and she is running a full hep panel and liver panel.  She said she is also doing a DNA check, etc.  She said that the chances of contracting HEP C or B are slim but still possible.  I'm a basket of nerves and praying that the tests come back negative.  God Bless and I'll post my results as soon as I get them.
