Nasal mucus with traces of blood

Nasal mucus with traces of blood

A little premise, sorry for my probably bad English, because I am Italian.....

Well, I'm scared by an accident incurred to me at workplace:
a follow employee passed me a couple of printed document
for work, and I, after a while that I was "treating" these sheets for work and so touching them, discovered,
with my orror that were present some fresh nasal mucus (ooze is the right word ?) in which there were really minuscule  traces of blood ( I had to use a magnifing glass to note them....) - there weren't blood really "painting" mucus. Immediately I treated the situation as a risk (washed hands, etc) BUT , because I fear  I had scratched my eyes with fingers before the mucus discovering I'm terrorized for a possible HCV infection trough connectiva of eyes.
I've read on the web that episodes of HCV transmission caused by blood SPILLS in the eyes are few and only annedoctical, and that, anyway, for a true HCV  transmission risk some  contaminated blood has to reach the blood-stream, and not, for example a mucosa surface like just in my case. Is this right ? In other words I have to be tested or stop here my anxiety ?
Thanking in advance.

You have nothing to worry about. The exposure you describe has 0% risk for contracting HCV.

Best of luck

I agree, plus you don't even know if the other person was infected with hep c right?

I think there are a lot more things in life that you should be concerned with... like why you picked this disease to worry about in the first place.

Thanks so much copyman and Diane12855 !
Yes I'm not able to know if my fellow empoyer has the HCV.

I'm truly obsessed by diseases in general, and HCV in particular. In 2001 I was exposed to a  work (Public Relation Office) accident ( a drug addict slightly hitting me with a sharp object) and I was tested for HIV HBV and HCV (all negative) and vaccinated for HBV (Recombivax) . In 2009 my (ex !!!) dentist forgot to replace the used and blood  tainted aspiring device , and I was checked for HIV and HCV..... So I'm quite oversensitive over the argument........   : (

Thanks again, truly.
