Nausea ?

I just started triple therapy last Friday evening (first injection). I felt not terribly bad until the following Tuesday then the nausea started, it's bad the first few hour of the morning the hits me again late afternoon. The third drug in my therapy is Incivek, and wondering if that is the culprit. Any suggestions and when is nausea bad enough to call you doctor ? Thanks Cheers

Incivek is the worst about causing nausea, and if you are getting very much nausea now you are at high risk of beginning to vomit from it in the next few days. Call your doctor now to get an Rx for Zofran (Ondansetron) phoned in to your local pharmacy. You need to control the nausea because if you can't keep your Incivek down your treatment could fail. Even losing one or two doses to vomiting could put you at more risk of viral mutation and breakthrough. The Zofran is a tiny tablet that you dissolve on your tongue every 8 hours as needed and it works very quickly and without sx in most people. For me it was a miracle drug – I was vomiting and 15 minutes later I had no nausea and actually felt a little hungry. Other anti-nausea drugs tend to cause some sedation (severe in me), but not this one. Be forewarned though, for a very  small percentage of people the Zofran is not effective for nausea and instead causes a headache, but this is not very common.

If your nausea is quite mild you might be able to treat it with ginger rather than Zofran, especially tea made with fresh ginger slices, but also ginger chews or ginger ale. These are very good for mild nausea but less likely to work when it is severe. Good luck!

I also have a stronger drug for nausea called prochlorperazine suppositories 25 mg

but taking them is well let me say a little more of a chore than the Zofran....

I hope I don't ever get them mixed up.....

I started 2 weeks ago and started with bad nausea. Get the doctor to prescribe you something for it asap as you don't want the nausea to stop you from taking the tabs.  The various sx seem to come and go.
All the best to you.

I just recently started also, so I know someone else will reply and give you good advice.  If you are nauseated, you should definitely let the Dr know as they can give you something to help with it.  No reason to suffer if there is something out there to help you feel a little better.  It's hard to take the meds when you are nauseated.  Good luck to you and I wish you success.  I have only done 2 injections and have already had to stop treatment due to it causing my billirubin to raise to high.

i am on triple with Inckvek .. week 20/48. don't ever wait for a side to become unbareable. I take Zofran (Ondansetron ODT) for the nausea. It works great.

who knows which drug is causing you discomfort; let's just say that all of them can and will.

many members have taken it.

good luck
