Nausea setting in for the first time today

Ugh, i am at work in the office. I am on day 13 of TX. I am trying not to run in the bathroom to throw up. I don't even have a question really, just some support would be nice, or some advice on how to cope.

I just started PEG today.  My doc says to keep Ginger cookies or Ginger snaps around.  Health food stores have ginger pills.  They have been proven (even on Mythbusters) to soothe an upset stomach and seasickness.  Good luck!

I was told not to take Pepto because of the color, and if I start vomiting, it would hard to tell if it was blood that was coming up.  And since there are other things on the market for nausea, I'd rather take that.

It started for me during the first month too, along with hgb dropping and feeling the effects, like dizziness, SOB, all that stuff creeps in during first or second month.  Some days are better than others though, and our bodies adjust and get kinda of get use to it, after some time.  Having bad nausea is no fun at all, I understand!  You may want to consider asking the doc to call something in for you to keep on hand for the bad days. Some days are better than others, hang in there!

Eventually I figured out that eating foods that are hot were not an option for me because of the smell, it was a real turn off, so I switched to eating things cold or that did not have much of a smell. Even with that I didn't have much of an appetite, but this common.  Hope that helps you.

Thank you Sunny, and Mag! So far, I have not had nausea until today, except, the thought of foods that I usually eat, have been not sounding good lately. Today is the hardest of all. Dizzy and numb too. Wow!

Good advise already, and try cold gingerale, or any soda also can sometimes calm that yucky feeling of nausea, and ask for meds if it doesn;t get better soon.

Are the smells a problem for you, like someone heating up foods in the office or anything in particular that sets this off for you?  I had a really hard time with nausea and smells made it much worse to the point like you said, wanting to throw up.

sorry you are feeling poorly - I had bad nausea the first 3 weeks of triple therapy, but got some zophran and it went away - try ginger ale or anything ginger flavored and ask your doc for nausea meds - Sunny
