Need a GOOD Doctor

I moved from Cleveland to Utah and am unable to locate a good specialist.  I went to a gastro doctor in St george Utah last August and have never seen him, but have had 3 calls from his PA.  Apparently it took them 9 months to get my records from the Cleveland Clinic.  I called today to ask if two months was enough time to review my records and come up with a plan.  The PA told me the Doctor said their was nothing they could do as I went through treatment in 2004 and failed.  Need a hep doctor in LAs Vegas area or Salt Lake City area.  I was on Pegasys maint until my prescription ran out in Nov.

CMPC has charity care based on income. I'm not sure if they can help you or not but you can ask about it when you call them.
My nurse sent me this web
site, for help with neupogen :

CMPC may have other ways to help you. Be persistant!   Good luck

Thanks you guys!  You are a big help...I was really getting depressed about this situation. This doctor and his PA really pissed me off.  The PA told me there really wasn't anything they could do for patients with hep 1a.  So when I asked if I just wait till the disease progresses and die she wouldn't even respond!

Plus my insurance only covers 60% of the cost of the medication.  Any one have any ideas for help with pegasys costs?

You might consider checking the American Liver Foundation's website. Somewhere on their site there should be some information leading to doctors. I would start there and make phone calls to the GI's asking if they are hepatologists. The other suggestion I have is to call the hospitals in your area, the bigger the better, and ask for the head of Gastroent. and again take it from there. It may take a little leg work but the results will be worth it. We saw a few doctors before we found the one we stayed with.
