Someone posted that they were awaiting the arrival of Pl's next year.  What is Pl ?  Something new?

What the abreviation for polymerase inhibitors going to be.
Are we going to have PI1 & PI2, depending on which one gets out first.

IMHO, the magic bullet is more like 10 years off. Until then other PI's and such will be used in conjunction with IFN/Riba

We already know from some of the folks who actually post here that the new protease inhibitor, teleprevir,  will reduce the length to time to tx to 24 weeks and it is hoped to increase the chances of SVR to about 80%.  This is information we are watching being gathered, confirmed and processed as I type, from the grace of the lab rats here who share with us and the drug makers who want to have the PI approved by the end of 2009.

My doc thinks the end of 2009 might not be that out of line and he is one smart guy, I travel a long ways to see him and tend to believe he knows the business.  Cross your fingers for us all.

We all have our fingers crossed for that. Just hope the FDA can cut out some of the red tape for the approval process.

24 weeks --- is no walk in the park... I feel for those that have to do more than that - those are the true heroes of TX.

But 24 weeks is still horrible.

I'd do it again tho.
