I used Neupogen a few times when I was on TX and took it on the same day as PegIFN, and even with Epoetin alpha shot. I did stagger them by several hours when I did so to allow my body a bit of time to respond to the medications, as well as for me to be able to adjust to an possible side effects I might experience. It was suggested to stagger the injections for the reason I indicate, but was also told that because they could be taken together.
My regimen a shot once a day for 3 consecutive days with CBC blood work 2-3 days after the third shot to determine response. In all instances I respond by jumping to normal level or above on my WBC which would then drop back to the low, but tolorable, levels I had been exhibiting for most of my TX period.
I never heard that they would conteract one another and do not see how they could since rescue meds like Neupogen and Epoegen are intended to stimulate blood cell production which are produced differntly within our bodies and Interferon is also naturaly produced in our bodies.
I do not know if any adverse interaction on the same day. I used Neupogen during treatment but not in Peg day. It's just worked out that way, I did not avoid Peg day purposely. Other may have furth info on the subject
Yes I am assuming I will be taking two shots every week. Do you have any input on whether or not I should be taking the Neupogen on the same day of my shot? I was told to do it, but I have read on here that so many are saying that they counteract one another. Thanks for your response.
It does not sound out of whack. But, there should be some monitoring (via CBC) built in to evaluate the effects of the stuff. Assume the two shots per week are every week?
