New Polymerase Trial R1626

Trial coodinator let me know about a Hoffman LaRoche trial for Geno 1 that will begin at the end of November. Read a few things in the medhelp archives about R1626 and found a bit on the web, but most info is dated 2006.

the aasld site seems to be very slow about posting their online abstracts but presumably will before the conference opens on 11/2. One ( I forget the number) gives the phase 1 results and they looked very promising (>5 log drop at 4 weeks in the high dosage group). I'm not eligible for phase II, but will definitely  be following it.

Thanks. I'll keep checking. I have to find out if it is recruiting that starts at the end of November or that they want to screen people and actually start treating by then. I am thinking they wouldn't want to try to get people started so close to the holidays. Would mess with everyone's schedules, goofy offices hours, etc.

Wonderful news for Andiamo1! Makes it harder to know what to do after reading the great PROVE 3 results posted recently.  

My clinic has never participated in any Vertex trials so I worry that if I wait, they won't be a test site for the upcoming 08 phase anyway. I have asked and was told they didn't know why they weren't included previously. Also, the back and forth on how long it will be before 950 is approved is a little disheartening.

I am totally with Jim on the "wait for shorter/better treatment if at all possible" approach. Same dilemna for all of us I guess.
