New on the scene

Hello everyone, I have been reading here on and off for awhile. I am a geno type 4 and am awaiting approval for triple therapy .Peg ,ribaviran, and sovaldi. This combo is, I am told very successful . just came home from first meeting with pharmacist .

Mind is spinning .Lots of questions. There is a lot of wait and see ,can I work , which side effects will I experience ,and to what degree . Is it really that different for everyone or are they just hesitant to tell me how ill I will feel??

Any one who has had this combo treatment , tips or info much appreciated

I am (was?) genotype 4, finished the same therapy you are about to start on May1 of this year. You can look for my posts, as I wrote a lot about my Tx on this Forum (just search Hepcsandi above). I was treatment naive, low viral load (192,000), low alt, ast numbers, normal ultrasound. I probably got it in the mid 70s. My therapy went pretty good, I go in for my 12 week post EOT viral load test next week. Having my fingers crossed that I am still UND. My doc reduced my Ribavirin the middle third of Tx because of anemia (rbc went down to 9.6). Hope my posts will help you. It wasn't a hard Tx, if you know what to expect going in. Read all you can on all 3 drugs. Plan your weeks accordingly. Good luck! Sandi
