New to Hep C

Ok so I am a Hep C infant here.  I was diagnosed 6 weeks ago.  Still trying to process all of this.  I have genotype 1b and my Doc says the b really dosen't change anything (lol) my VL is just over 1 million.  I've been doing reserch and reading up on symptoms.  I had the yellow eyes for a little while and a lot of pain in my UPQ (upper right quadrant) and really tired all the time.  That was really all I had to complain about for the first 4 weeks so I was counting myself lucky.  Anyway this past week I spiked a fever of 104.6 and I have had a few high fevers off and on going as high as 103.8.  I started having bad muscle cramps and joint pain I basically started feeling like I had the flu.  I haven't started treatment yet.  I was wondering if anyone else had experianced something similar.

Hi and welcome. I'm sorry for your bad news and hope things go smothly for you. I continue to have a few symptoms like being super tired all the time, nausia, joint pane and so on and I've had hep c for around 19 or 20 years ( stage 3 fibrosis ) . Alot of people will say there are really no chronic hep c symptoms but the truth is that there are very real chronic hep c symptoms they are just not common so most people aren't aware that they are real and true symptoms. good luck with everything : )

No biopsy as of yet.  I don't know how long I've had it.  My Doc told me that it was an Acute flare up basically.  I did have elevated liver enzymes about 9 weeks ago and they trippled in one week from what I understand.  My urine was dark for a while but it has lightend over the last few weeks and my eyes aren't yellow.  My bilirubin was at a 3 6 weeks ago but I haven't had it tested.  I know that I will start the 3 drug treatment in about 3 and 1/2 months so thats good.  My Doc said that I could have been exposed a while ago and just never became symptomatic untill now.  Thats all the info that I have right now unless you can think of something specific

Hi and welcome to the forum.  I am sorry for your diagnosis.  Some more information from you would be helpful if you know it at this point.
Any idea how long you have had it? Is it a recent infection?
Have you had a liver biopsy?
I am/was acute HCV and did have a few symptoms initially-fatigue and brown urine. However, it is not common and it is not common to have symptoms once you are chronic.
Others will give you their two cents worth but please post any info you have beyond what you have already posted.
You will be fine and will get through this!!!!!
