Sorry to bust this post but I want to thank you all so much for your prayers and support. I can't tell you how grateful I am to have this forum in my life. Even though I don't know any of you personally, your support has gotten me through so much and I feel as if we are old friends. My  family is already familiar with this forum as I speak about it often and I will pass on your prayers.
Thank you from the very bottom of my heart.

This may be as good of place as any to post this. I really do have TEARS in my eyes and tired of this whole deal !!  I really am just after some peace and quite and a peace of mind with hepatitis C.

I decided (after long and difficult debate with myself) that I would NOT take the 3 month post tx PCR testing to see if my virus is still gone.  I opted (after long and difficult debate with myself) to wait and take the 6 month testings.  I was due my 3 months at the end of August; this was actually my 3-month past my 56-week tx time that ended the last of May.

Well, now August is gone isn't it now?  And all I can think about is if I am clear.  Well....if I would have taken my 3 month test...we would all know right now as I type this post.

My legs have been hurting more than usual. I didn't have leg pain before my treatment only during treatment and it was chalked up to being on the hepC tx meds or else could have been the Procrit.

I am feeling tired more than normal these past couple of weeks. Could be just me or mhhhhhhhh is the hep back?  I got such a burst of energy a couple of months after stopping all of my tx meds.  I thought that burst and good feeling would continue on.  After all....did the treatment...cleared the virus...stopped all the brutal meds that I took for an unGODLY length of time and now I feel so much better.  I really thought it would all continue.

All I'm left with as I type this post to all my dear friends on this forum, along with TEARS in my eyes as I think of this and type this out is the feeling that this **** will come back on me.  Is my hepatitis C back now?  Is it still gone.  Whoo....my mind is reeling.

If I would go take my PCR test then my questions would be answered.  I know, I know.  Take the test...see if it is gone...see if it is back.... !!

I am so frightened and so devastated to take the test.  If it's back then well....I can't cope with this treatment and all those medicines once again.  I can't cope with this whole deal anymore. I really once and for all want this out of my LIFE...I know that is impossible.  I have a disease.  I treated.....ah those miserable medicines and better yet that brutal 56 weeks.

Seems unreal when I really think about this disease, the treatment, and the uncertainty.  I really do have TEARS in my eyes and tired of this whole deal !!

My heart goes out to you because I know later this year,,,this will also be one of my fears. Jamie and everyone has some very good points though.  I know my dr told me,,,after finishing tx,,,he would see me in 6 months for pcr,,I was kinda taken aback and said,,,6 months???  That is a long time and his words were,,,this takes alot out of you for the year and your body and mind need the healing before finding results in case of relapse and also tx wouldn't begin again after a 6 month period.  This is all true but I know how I am and probably as it gets closer to the time,,,3months would be enough time for me to adjust and then want some results.  Don't take just because you are having some aches that you experienced during tx,,,that hep is back because you also said yourself that you had no symptoms before tx.  You had tx for a long time and I'm sure that you are still having some problems due to tx as it can take as long as 6 months to year to totally feel back to normal!  This disease, the tx, and then after wait can really take alot out of us! Dry your tears and treat yourself to something special this weekend. We all know so well the tears, the fear, and anxiety that goes with this,,,((((Hugs))))

I would take the test. Even if you decide not to treat again, should it be positive, you will have these months to come to terms with the news. as it stands, you are worrying yourself sick with terror and the stress can't be good. Taking the test will bring peace of mind(much needed) when it comes back negative, or coping time if it doesn't. Not knowing seems to be the worst fate.
peace to you

I really hope it helps when I tell you that in my 3rd month post tx. alot of my tx. symptoms came back also. The fatigue, slight nausea, body aches. But I tested neg. in my PCR. I don't know if that 1st burst of feeling great and powerful was just psychological, or real, but now in my 4th month, it is slowly coming back. Seems like each week I have a little more "good" hours and a little less "icky" ones. Good luck and if you feel like testing test. It really is an uplifter, because in most cases, if it's gonna come back, it shows up by now. You are in my prayers.  Joni

Of coarse you are tired, just the stress you are going through would really fatigue a person. You have been through so much I can certainly see why your do worried. You have to aask yourself, "Is it better to live like this for 3 months or just find out"? At least now there is a good possibility you could be clear but this will make you crazy before 3 more months. As for the leg pains, I get them too so maybe it's a med thing. You have been a great inspiration for me and I hate to see you feeling so bad. You inspired me to research extended tx and go for it along with staying full dose throughout. Maybe you did not know it but it was mainly your positive post that got me onto extending tx. If I am clear I'll rememeber you forever (will anyways <grin>). I hate to see you feeling so bad. I was also going to wait until 6 months post tx to get a PCR but I decided today to do it at 3 or 4 months when I get my next labs. I can't stand the wait. Whatever you decide is best for you I feel for you today. LL

I have no experience in this treatment, so please forgive me if I'm out of line to post to you.  If you were comfortable with your decision not to test,  you would not be going through what you are today.  Your fear will kick your butt.  This thought will be what haunts you for the next 3 months.  Is this what you want?  Continued leg pains or any other ache or oddity that comes forward will bring your mind right back to this very thought.  You need not torture yourself.  What will be, will be.  After those 56 weeks of treatment, you CAN handle the truth. You ARE a fighter.  You ARE strong. Regardless of the results, you will have the answers to calm your worries.

My heart goes out to you.

Always,

Jamie

M.N. thanks so much for your congrats !!

DTR. I did not have a 3 mo post tx lab. I waited till the 6 mo.

For the month prior, I had alot of anxiety about it. I really think it was the norm for me to do this. (may not be for everyone)
I would only suggest that you do what is good for you. To take the test now or wait.
I hope that your anxiety will ease up soon.
Sending you big hugs !!

hey you waiting causes stress as others have mentioned.
I terminated tx early because of the severe sx and after 8 months still experience lots of the sx. Like being burned out after a little exertion, aching joints and bones occasional rages and just generally feeling like a bag of ****... without the bag. Also our fav sx riba rash continues to reappear. And, when I was retested at end of July I showed clear.  So having all the aches and sx.from tx doesn't necessarily mean you are not clear.. It means the drugs are taking a little longer to completely pack their bags and leave. Different people react to withdrawal of these meds differently. It can take some up to a year to really feel normal? again. To constantly worry yourself about clearing will cause other stress related symptoms, so go get tested and at least, you will know for your own sanity
all the best...Daryl
