No genotype could be found

I work at a hospital and got a needle stick I'm in treatment but could not get a genotype because the patient passed away.  I'm on peginterferon injection and ribavirin 6 pills a day this will go on for a year .But now I'm aways sick the joint pain and nausea and vomiting. Will this go away

why would anyone care about the genotype in a dead patient.

It is the genotype YOU have (if you are in fact virus positive) that is what is important.

Why are you treating?  Just as a precaution?  Something sounds off.  You should have either 1) waited to find out if the virus is even in your blood or 2) Treated for 6 months with the drug regimen recommended these days.
