In order for a pre-existing clause not to apply with group coverage you have to have been insured for one year with no break in coverage.  A letter of credible coverage from the previous insurer would allow immediate coverage for any illness.  Since Katheryn is not currently covered by any insurance, and if she were to become eligible for group insurance through an employer she would need to find a different doctor with no prior knowledge of her illness.  Otherwise, once the insurance company receives the information from her doctor, they will determine it is pre-existing and she will have to wait to be covered for treatment of hepc approximately 6 months.  That's the usual length of time on pre-existing illnesses.

Find a clinical trial and work at a company with group insurance. You can find clinical trials on clinicaltrials.gov. they will supply the medications at no cost if you want to try to clear the virus. Hep C is pre-existing condition for any individual policy, however on group insurance it is not. So if you get insurance through a comapny even after being diagnosed you should be okay.
