I am a geno type 1.  Was on tx for 48 weeks with interferon and 1200 mgs of reba. My Doc now wants me to try Ribasphere 1200 mg  daily and Intergen - three injections a week.  Has anyone been on these meds?  My viro load has gone up 1.5 mill in the  past 6 months.  Not looking forward to the uckey feeling again from the meds.

I think ribasphere is the same thing as ribaviron.  I haven't been on the other so I can't help you with that.

Wow, I didn't even know there was a Hep C march! I live 10 min from DC and am often downtown for my job.  I will be there and would gladly help with links, info on places to stay.  May even throw a pool party/grilling picnic!

I have not been on for a week, and am just catching up on all the threads.  Some great stuff, WAY TO GO ALL YOU RESPONDERS!!!

Took my daughter on a 7 hour road trip Friday night after work to go look at a college, didn't get to our room til after midnight and was late getting my shot. Saturday we did the Open House and then drove right back home!!! I was WIPED.

The tx is going okay, that was shot 8/24 and I found out my doc doesn't to a Liver Function or PCR? at 12 weeks, says he will wait for wk 24 and then decide whether to stop or go on longer.  Has anyone else heard of this?

Feeling some anger right now, while I was gone over the weekend my puppy was a bit too much for my husband and he has said it is him or the dog. It's been coming for a while, but geez, he just promised a few weeks ago he wouldn't put me through this decision until my treatment was over.  NOT!  Anyway, I am taking our daughter to Ireland in two weeks and the dog needs to be gone by then.  Not to be in denial, I am really SAD too.  This whole thing just bites.

By the way, thanks for the info last week on the itching.  I do have Bag Balm and may use it if the other stuff doesn't help. I have used that for years for my dry hands in the winter.  I was really interested in what the rash LOOKS like, not what to use on it.

I wish I could take the pup, really!  Men are such wimps! If they had to go through what we do, the world would have ended many centuries ago.
As for the March, You are ON! email me (in the contact patient list) with possible reasonable places to stay. I have been trying to go for the last two years.
Are you serious about the BBQ? You will be done with Tx by then and I would be getting my 6 month post tx PCR. Celebration time!

Last year I was still on tx but it was the Reagan stuff that kept me home, he got all the attention that weekend, so I was too dissappointed to go.

I sent you an email.  Think the March is a great idea.  Still hoping to find a place for my pup.
