Non detected 2nd time!!!!

Hi all,

I guess prayer, reading healing scriptures works along with laying of the hands, anointings, etc. About 4 years ago I was tested with more than a  2 million viral load. (My ex husband died of this a few years back. I got tested with the Cleveland Clinic's Hep C (quantitative) test and received a Non Detected. So I called my hepatologist and he told me to have my family physician give me the Hepatitis C qualitative...which is more sensitive.  I just got the results back today and again....NON DETECTED!  I wonder if he'll have me take a 3rd test with another clinic.  Any one been tested by the Cleveland Clinic??

Thanks for your thoughts. You obviously have a strong faith and it seems to provide a spritual and moral comfort in your life.

I don't think you understood my point--I do not "hate" Christians, I merely do not believe as they do. I think that the comforts of religion and spirituality are important to those of us on tx. I just feel that this level of religious detail is inappropriate on this forum, which reaches the world and not just Christians.

To counter with a secular quote: "There are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamed of in your philosophy, Horatio."

Peace and SVR to all of us.

Pattie, I had forgotten that you had AIH. I apologize for that and I should have remembered because there aren't a lot of you guys here. How do you control the disease - prednisone? I know a few people with auto-immune disorders and I know it can be tough. I really wish you well and if you want you can always find me here. It's so nice to hear from you.
cuteus, either interpretation seems right to me and, really, not too different from one another. When I heard the story I was driving and the guy was a passenger and I really almost lost it. This guy was about 70 and he was 6'6" tall and had a pencil-thin mustache and really looked like Brando in the Godfather. And he had a very strong Brooklyn accent so it was quite funny. He was a good client of mine who always insisted that before he'd give me the order he wanted to smoke pot. I said this was 10 years ago but it was closer to 20 now that I think about it. Anyway I'd oblige him and, of course, join him, so my mood was a bit altered. I never forgot that story and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Mike

Well said! (The ballplayer/God story).  I shall remember that for years to come also.

I've been so-so.  Just a roller coaster.  Remember I have AIH instead of HCV so there is no 'getting well' with me.  Just good days and bad days.  But most days are great.  I don't work anymore so I get to lie around and sleep as soon as I get my little bit of house work done.  I have an absolutely wonderful husband who works his butt off at a good job - with the all important good health insurance.  I have an 11 year old son that gets good grades in school and doesn't get in as much trouble as most 11 year olds.  And parents that live about 10 miles from me that worry themselves to death that I'm following doctors orders.  HOW could a person ask for more?

God has truly blessed me.  I have said many times that my disease has been a blessing because BH (that's Before Hepatitis) I was working so many hours that I was missing life.  This has slowed me down and made me smell the roses.  I'm grateful God slowed me down so I didn't miss all this.

Mike, I wish you well and well and well and well.  I hope you stay around on here to continue to guide the new ones that react like me to the news and that are scared to death when first diagnosed.  Your kind, gentle words that supplied sound medical advice was the only thing that got me ahold of myself.  Again, I shall NEVER forget you.

Please stay in touch.

About 10 years ago an older guy from NY City asked me what I thought about "born again Christians" and I replied I was cool with them. I asked him how he felt. He said {they're like a guy playing shortstop for the Yankees in NY who looks up and says "hey God look at me I'm in the bigs" to which God replies "yea okay, just play the game". And the guy says "but God I'm playing shortstop for the Yankees and I owe it all to you" and again God replies " I see you, now play the game". But the guy replies "praise you lord for your blessings" at which point the line drive of life hits the guy right in the head and, of course, he flubs the play. Then God said "you see schmuck, I told you - just play the game - don't worry about me, I'm watching".} Mike

donl, i would never think that of anyone here esp you...you are a sweetie pie...

but, i guess the point i wanted to make and the Bible makes is that someone "may" hate us for speaking about our faith, but we can't let that discourage us or detour us from doing what we think is the right thing to do...

i agree with you that this forum is probably not the best place to try to "convert" someone overtly, unless the person was absolutely sure God wanted them to say something at that point in time...

i believe a better place to discuss religion and debate it would perhaps be at lou's... or somewhere else besides a "medical" forum for the same reasons you mention...people are primarily here for medical answers...but, some do come for medical healings, by other believers, through prayer, or even spiritual support for thier illness...for some "healing can not be separated from God/Christ/The Holy Spirit...

but, it always comes up around here...and i couldn't resist to give my view, since everyone else seemed to be giving thiers...

i think if people get too upset about a believer expressing thier praise to God for healing or answered prayers or prayer requests...we will always end up in these discussions here...because "you can take the girl outta texas but you can't take the texas outta the girl"....

True Christians will always give the credit, power, glory and sovreignty to God who is in controll over all...(we believe with all our hearts)...

so i think it best to let it go and let us speak our hearts...all of us...anyway didn't all this start because because poor Susie Shalom gave the glory to God for her healing and tony,I and others praised Him too for it. That wasn't prosylatizing or heavy handed but our true joy for the possible miracle healing...

people will never be able to get a true Christian from praising God, obeying God, or sharing thier faith...this is concidered denial of Christ according to THE GOD OF THE BIBLE...

donl, i say this with the greatest of love and respect for you and others...and would never want to hurt you or anyone...but,in kindness and love i must obey God!

As a matter of fact if the Christian didn't love you and others they would never bother trying to "convert" or even talk to you and others about Christ or pray for you...cause in the word it says non believers will go to hell...now if you truly believed this as i do than how could we keep this from our loved ones? it would be like NOT informing your beloved child to stay away from the burners on a stove...

some Christians just teach/preach it with a lot more class and gentleness than others and are a lot more like Jesus in how they speak of it to others...

others including myself have a long way to grow to be more like Jesus.  all Christ followers are at different places in thier growth as Christians...none of us are anywhere near perfect like Christ...

but, remember even He got crucified for His "message" to the people, they could find NO sin in Him...so my point is there will always be people that hate the message...and some (not you don or most here) will take it out on the messenger...

but, YOU have been nothing but kind to us Christians and i appreciate your concerns...and I will do my best to try not to  be obnoxious, rude,or inappropriate about my faith comments here...that would be a sin anyway...:O)

Jesus said in Mt 10:16
"Behold, I send you out as lambs in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and gentle as doves"... in His speaking about how we should go out to preach and teach to others...i need a bit more of the "gentleness" aspect...i'm sorta like a bull in a china shop...AND WAY TOO LONG WINDED,SO SORRY...but i mean well in my heart of hearts and i do love you all!!!...sandi

Hi you guys, what a wonderful conversation amoung friends of differing views...you know we all respect each others faith or lack thereof...we deeply care about each other...

each one has a belief and that is thier belief(some change later in life)...and they should stand up for thier beliefS reguardless...

if they deny thier belief they are wimping out...THEY DO NO JUSTICE TO THEMSELVES OR THIER FAITH (OR NONFAITH). AND ALL SHOULD DO IN KINDNESS AND LOVE...NEVER IN AN UNLOVING WAY...

FOR EXAMPLE: the "Christian" is guided by God's scriptures and is in FULL agreement with ALL God says in His word...like for example God says, that HE is the "Father",not the mother....but, His characteristics can also be "femininlike"...like when He said he wishes he could "gather all his children under his wings like a mother hen"...so though he calls himself a Father...He is a perfect Father and God...with a Love that is also female like...

we can get confused and think of a "human father or man" and we see that there can be flaws in our earthly fathers or other male figures, so some have a hard time thinking of God as a Father...but as a Christian we believe Every word of the Bible so we believe He is our Father...

HERE IS ANOTHER EXAMPLE; God tells us in His word not to shrink back in declareing Him as the one true God and commands us to go into the whole world and share the gospel (the good news about Him saving sinners through ACCEPTANCE of the sacarifice of His son Jesus)...

so it's hard as a Christian being told by "mere" men NOT TO ATTEMPT TO CONVERT OTHERS and to try NOT to talk about God!!! It has become our very selves...not just a part of us...it is us! OUR SPIRITS HAVE BEEN TRANSFORMED FROM THE INSIDE THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT WHO NOW RESIDES IN US AND LEADS US...

just so you know, some are actually asking us to "disobey God"...the example laid out for all Christians in the Bible is what they call Martyerdom...Martyerdom is a Christian WILLING to choose death over denial of Christ or His commands...I pray i'd be that strong in that situation...

i can't speak of other religions because i'm a Christian and realistically i deny all faiths but Christianity...as God tells me to.

BUT I STILL RESPECT AND DON'T MIND HEARING ABOUT WHAT EACH ONE BELIEVES...I WILL NEVER BE OFFENDED ABOUT AN ATHIEST OR OTHER FAITH EXPLAINING WHY THEY BELIEVE WHAT THEY BELIEVE...OR A ISLAMIC WHAT THEY BELIEVE...I MAY NOT AGREE BUT I LOVE AND RESPECT THEM AND AM INTERESTED IN THIER BELIEFS...I WOULDN'T WANT TO TELL THEM TO PLEASE SHUT UP...

BUT SAYING ALL THAT, I DO BELIEVE THIS FORUM MAY NOT BE THE APPROPRIATE PLACE FOR "NON DESIRED" PROSYLITATION...PEOPLE WHO WANT TO KNOW MORE WILL ASK US...OR GOD WILL TELL US WHEN IT'S THE correct TIME TO SHARE MORE and we must obey...GOD IS VERY APROPRIATE,HE'S PERFECT,but the Bible is clear that some will be very upset by us sharing our faith...People have been killed for it...

tony i respect your diligence in giving God first place in your life!!! i respect you so much for that...

Jesus said people will hate us but it's not really us they hate...it's really Him...though i really don't think anyone here hates us at all,but have been very supportive and tolerant...

please allow me to share these interesting bible verses...they may help someone understand where the Christian is comming from and not to take it as a personal threat...

Luke 6:22 -
"Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man" (Jesus).

John 7:7
"The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me (Jesus) because I testify of it, that its deeds are evil."

Mark 16:15
And He (Jesus) said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

Mt 11:1
When Jesus had finished giving instructions to His twelve disciples, He departed from there to teach and preach in their cities.

Ro 8:17
and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.

Ps 9:11
Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion! Declare His deeds among the people.

So See the God of the universe is telling us to preach and to Glorify Him....should we disobey His words to us?

FOOD FOR THOUGHT...

p.s.THIS IS NOT DIRECTED TOWARD ANY INDIVIDUAL JUST MY THOUGHTS AS WE COME TO THIS TOPIC FROM TIME TO TIME...

Hi there,
You sound in great spirits, I'm so happy to read that you're doing well and feeling good:).  I'm almost in single digits: this is week 38 then next week I intend to start counting backwards 10,  9,  8.. I think it will help me psychologically as I near the finish line.  Maj mentioned in an earlier post as did Donl, I believe that the last 10 - 12 weeks are the hardest -that may well be true for me:).
Oh, BTY someone posted that they had seen your pic on Hotheps but I couldn't find it when I went to check?  Is it still there?  I am so very happy for you that you attained SVR and seem to be getting back to "normal".  Were you able to meet up with your friends from this site?  I hope you did and all had a great time; (Showboat? Susan -tall Blonde??) made me wish I lived closer:)..
Kind regards:).

that is quite a relief about your negative pcr status, enjoy and continue to be well.
Although prayer has a positive effect on our body, I don't believe it was all that was at work in your results. Some people that do not pray, do clear spontaneously, especially in the pre-chronic stages.

Congratulations Susie, great news!
Lvd - very best of luck to you; sending positive thought waves your way:).
DonL:  I understand your post completely as we share similar beliefs although the references to God and religion don't usually offend me as I believe people of faith need to call on their God to help them beat HCV and live through the ordeal.  Having said that, though:
TonyZ - I really think you are pushing the envelope a bit in trying to convert non believers to your brand of faith; asking Donl such pointed questions on this Forum is boderline offensive to me, personally.  I know you are a man of faith and I believe from your posts that you are a genuinely good and kind person, what you seem to be lacking from your post in this thread though is respect for the opinions and beliefs of others and to me, that just doesn't seem typical of you?

"May I ask you, why don't you believe in God!
He is the only Logical reason for all that has been created, from before time until after time even science proves him."

That was the statement I read as trying to convert...  Donl was cleary not offended by your post and I do believe that it's fine for you to preach your faith, I would just prefer you don't do it on this Forum.   You are definitely NOT an offensive person, you are always kind and caring, actually it's only because I like you that I responded to your post, if I didn't "know" you I would have ignored it:).
Have a great day, Tony and may your God go with you...
Kind regards.

just to clarify, your post was not the "converting" kind, It seemed to me more of an explanation.
as for the gender deed, unfortunately, many strict believers do think the higher power is a male. you and I know better.

I like; the being of energy and the great spirit (like some native americans believed). This from a raised Catholic. I do believe in a being of positive energy, and of course there has to be an equal opposing force, but these are all human assigned values, we will only truly know when we cross to another existence.
Foremost, I believe in the power of positive energy to exert a positive outcome.
be well
