Noncystic spleen mass found

I recently went to a urologist for a CT scan,seeking the reason for sterile hematouria(microscopic, acute)
While nothing was found in the urinary tract, pancreas, liver or adrenal glands, a dense, non-cystic 5.6 cm mass was discovered in my spleen....along with some enlarged lymph nodes and "possible cellular infiltrtion" in the marrow of my femor.
I have been refered to heomotogy/oncologist....but would like to learn asmuch as I can during this next week.
What types of tumors or masses might this represent and where can I look up more information including possible options....

Do you have hepatitis C?  This forum is for folks with Hep C, if you don't have it then try Google to search for 'spleen mass symptoms, etc.'.  Good luck on your search.

I to, have a mass on my spleen that as of yet isn't classified. The spleen is often effected in Hep-C patients, referred to as an enlarged spleen. Mine was revealed on a CT scan also, along with an adrenal mass, kidney cyst and two cysts on my liver and one way down yonder in the nether regions. PCP recommends wait and watch with a follow-up CT at 6 months to look for changes. I do also have Hep-C. I should be scheduled to that follow-up CT in August. And by the way I do have pain in both right and left side sort of like an ache type of pain. And I also have an occasional stabbing pain in both sides which double me over.

The majority of masses not classified as a simple cyst are called incidentalomas. For more info on this go to this website (http://tinyurl.com/2c75ks).

I certainly wouldn't worry about it for now. They're usually "incidental", or benign.
