Normal Biopsy but stigmata of Chronic Liver Disease

by cantlivenotknowing, Jun 22, 2006 12:00AM
Before I get started, I want to say I am living fine and my nickname seems a little overboard to me at this point as I know I am going to live, at least for a while longer :). I picked it when I was indeed thinking that I was going to die and wanted to know if I had end stage liver disease.

I recently had a biospy which indciates that I have
-trivial fat, very little
-mild congestion
- no fibrosis

I also had a Fibrosure test done which scored 11 and indicates no fibrosis or ongoing inflammation.

My question is this, does anybody have any experience with having red hands/palmar erythema with no permanent liver disease or damage? I did not have Palmar Erthema prior to coming down with Alcohol Hepatitis in November 05' and being what I considered to be mortally sick.

However, with normal serial blood tests, negative biopsy, and negative fibrotest, I still have palmar erythema and trace physical feelings and aftershocks of my illness. Do the red hands which are indeed related to my illness make sense in light of all of the normal histological findings? Is it possible that all of these tests are still not identifying damage which could exist?

Any insight or commenst would be much appreciated.

Thanks
