Now Approved For Treatment !

Hello all. I posted a few days ago that I was turned down by Blue Shield for treatment of HCV genotype 2. I could not seem to reach them online. Day before yesterday I called Gilead. I was helped by a case worker. I told her I have one 28 day supply of Sovaldi/Ribavirin here, and was prescribed 12 weeks and turned down by BS. I think that Acaria pharmacy must have appealed for me and turned my info over to CVS. Later on, at work, I received a call from the Gilead case worker saying she had a conference call set up with a BS rep. I listened as the rep said I was now approved for the other two 28 day supplies, with ribavirin also. My coupon with Gilead allows me a $10 co pay. I still can't believe it. I called CVS, and they said yes, will be here next Monday. I feel so fortunate and blessed to have a chance at healing. I will pay this forward with kindness and caring for others. Now I am a touch apprehensive about therapy, but will do my best. Have to go to work each day. No way around it.

Ditto what everyone else said.  Also eat a liver friendly diet (fresh veggies and fruits, nuts, eggs, cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, poultry and fish [cooked to done].  Stay away from all added sugar, low sodium, do not drink alcohol - stop if you do now - , don't do illegal drugs and have you DR or Specialty Pharmacist okay all prescribed meds.  If you have any energy left after working full time, try to exercise, even just walking a little will help.  Stop smoking, if you do, or start quitting.

Those things will help your liver be its best so it can benefit to the max from the meds you are starting.

As all have said, we are here - feel free to ask any questions you may have.  We are with you all the way!

Blessings and on to SVR!
