Number 43 coming up on Monday!

I am SOOOOO tired.   43 weeks, as of Monday.  My lips have developed horrible sores on the corners and right on the inside next to my teeth.  Very painful.  Anyone else had this?  This is the first time this has happened since I started treatment, but I am having a rough last few weeks.  Alot of fever, aches, low hgb and wbc.  Hgb went to 8.2.   Don't know why.  I am still on the procrit and havent changed any doses.  Except for lowered my riba to 800 daily instead of 1000 because of my weight loss.  I am not at 97 lbs., started at about 128.

wish me luck .....it is going to be a long 5 wks.....

I have a prescription for a cream called betamethasone.  It helps clear up the rashes and sores that keep popping up. I'm at week 53 and the sores around my mouth just started a couple of weeks ago. I also us an otc cortisone w/aloe cream for itchy spots.  I hope this helps.  Hang in there!  We're counting down now!

thx.  I am thinking of upping the procrit to every five days instead of 7 to see if that helps.  Hope my counts get to normal fairly soon after I quit tx.  I PRAY FOR SVR>>>>\\

Thanks so much.

Sounds like things have been very difficult for you.  Have you asked about increasing the procrit a bit?  Its so hard when hgb gets that low.  You must be counting the minutes by now.  Hang on Jean, you have come so far!  It won't be long.  We can never know what tx will be like but at least we know it will be over soon.

You are almost there.  Focus on that as much as you can, and ask for a bit more procrit, and something for the mouth sores.

all the best
