OFFICIALLY SVR - DROPPED BY HEPATOLOGIST

Yesterday - my doctor officially declared me HCV Cleared.

I'm SVR - And technically VIRUS FREE!

The doctor advised he no longer needed to see me as a patient... I was kinda "butt-hurt" over that statement until I realized that seeing my doctor --- was like a death sentence... and my death sentence has been lifted!

I now have to get rid of the side effects - but I guess I can say that I've got a lot of life ahead of me now.

I have a few more things to get through - but I'm thinking - hell - I've got plenty of time now.

LOL!

Well - just had to share that with folks who would understand.

I feel like popping a bottle of champagne. (Keep in mind I've never been a heavy or even moderate drinker... so one bottle for me alone --- would prolly have me spinning in circles --- and crab walking.)

May be you should see the doc one more time.  I think you are 3 months post - tx.  The clinical definition is virus in detected at 24 weeks post tx.  Although relapsing after 3 months is not a high liklihood....  Congratulations for toughing it out.

congratulations that is great news.  gee after all these months i know how hard it is to let go of the routine bloodwork, injectsions, pills and accompanying office visits.  i know i felt "abandoned" with no followup. but i guess that was just something i had to give up.

hope you recover quickly.  keep my previous suggestions in mind....and

the hair will keep falling for several weeks, you will gradually begin to feel better, when you finally do have the stamina to do more, you may end up laying in bed for a day or two to recover from it.  but keep pressing on to good health.

It's great to hear your 3 months post-PCR showed all clear!!!! Congrats, Meki, that official word has got to make the lingering stuff a little easier to bear. :) It looks very promising for the 6 month post PCR - a bit puzzling (though good news to be freed!) that there's no more follow-up with your hepatologist. Maybe your primary care doc will do another one down the road. Anyway, wishing you also the other svr (symptoms-very-rare) soon!!! :)
