I've used a patch for 15 years. When I found out my insurance wouldn't cover it, I pay full price for the name brand cuz I was also told Incivik could reduce the amount absorbed. I haven't had amy probs so far. Wow. Is there actually a side effect I haven't experienced? lol.
You're smart to talk to your gp. I did and we agreed to make no changes, but to watch for signs it may be less effective. Congrats on starting!!! Karen :)
I was on incivek for 12 weeks and did not notice any estrogen based problems.
My bone scan before tx and post tx was normal. Hair loss minimal-maybe 25%. Colored my hair every 4 weeks, too, lol! Periods were unfortunately irritatingly regular. Facial hair....not noticibly increased...except for the longer eyelashes ( a good thing) and totally crazy long eyebrows (not so good, but totally trim-able)
We all react differently. I hope your sides turn out to be light.
Good Luck!

tx has caused me to start having hot flashes again. I started all of that garbage 10 years ago and used HRT for years and was finally able to stop, but for the past few months I'm sweating like a pig, even have soaked night gowns some mornings. I don't know what it did to me, but I'm thinking that the little bit of estrogen I had is gone now. If I get my SVR next month I'd say that it has been worth all of the sx that I have gone through to know that virus is totally gone for good.

Quite honestly even without the Incivek a lot of women have experienced those types of problems (a period that completely stops but then restarts the month you stop treatment), growing facial hair (tons of white peach fuzz hair!) stuff like that.
So it's not surprising to me at all.......
