ok, sorry to hear you so blue...
but adding 2 and 2 now....if you have even a minor dental thing it can become major, EITHER when your interferon in going up.....as mine did...or most certainly when it is going down....because you become more vunerable and it takes time for your own body to readjust to making normal levels of interferon, which it did not need to make NAY while you were on the tx....so now suddenly any bacteria can take over.
call your dentist....or doctor, get on some antibiotics NOW...even if you just have gingivitis from not having your teeth cleaned regularly THAT can turn into a full systemic infection because the whole lymph system is connected... there are a LOT of lymph glands in the mouth, to fight infections and germs in our mouth, great exposure there, and these are connected with lymph vessels (similar to veins and arteries) to all the other lymph nodes...meaning infection can spread rapidly.
so NOT to scare you, cause everybody seems to feel worse at some point coming off of tx, but because f your question on the other thread, you must get seen for your teeth.
If there is an infected tooth, they will have to put you on antibodies for several days before treating it, for your own safety, so the sooner seen the sooner you'll feel better.
feel better soon!!
This is just a shame that docs don't warn people....for instance people on chemo have colds turn into viral pneumonia, life threatening, very often....but it's not info many get up front where it could prove very valuable.
congrats to finishing tx. i pray your last ride you spoke of was a good one.
i am post tx 3 mths and i was doing real good but the last week or so i have nausea issues come up. i asked my np about it and she thinks i could have gotten the flu bug going around, darn the luck lol. after doing 56 weeks i thought nothing could compare but that is still yet to be seen. my sides were very minimal after stopping and then this bug. i have been told that it takes apprx 3 mths for the meds to completely clear system. something about the body recycles the blood every 3 mths. i hope you start feeling better.
i took my last shot last night of a 6 week taper off, ive still been sick but its all gradually better on a smooth wean off course. ive read so many accounts of sx worse after
quitting that i wanted to try and avoid that. the taper off is working for me. i know its too late for you to do this now but anyone else who wants a smoother transition, this seems to work. i think most docs will let you do this.
hang tough war sister.
Hope you start to feel better soon as you will. Give yourself a month or two.
Maybe you have a flu bug on top of it all!!
Best wishes always

I have on occassion posted that i had more sides post tx than during. I felt awful for 2mths post tx. Everything joint pain, feeling emotionally horrible etc. Not to worry, it does go away. I think if i would have been weaned off the meds it might not have been so bad. 18mths post and svr. Hope the same for you. Just try to hang in there the best u can.
hope you feel good soon! Takes awhile, but should come back!
Maybe your trying to be your old self soon? Go slow!
Deb
I felt a lot worse after tx, but hard to tell since I was in the hospital when I stopped. After the hospital it still took months and months to feel the energy again. Now that I have the FM dx, and take meds for it, the muscle and bone pain is much better.
Hope you feel better soon!

I took my last Peg shot 9 days ago and tapered off the Riba the last week and so far I feel a lot better than I did. But if I remember correctly you went though a lot more sx than I did so it will probably take you longer before you feel better. I would imagine you are probably pretty run down right now. Hoping it doesn't take too long.

I had alot of muscle and back pain althrough my first treatment and it did´t stop until 3 months post tx. But after that i´ve been in a better shape then in twentyfive years or so.
And i relapsed! still feels better then ever due to them isssues.
Glad you of tx wish and pray for svr for u
Thanks, this sucks when your thinking 'whoooo hooo' I'm done!
I asked him that, and have a good liver specialist, he said 'no need' as the drugs stay 'on board' awhile. I'd thought it made sense also and some here do believe that. This ranks up there with the 'worst days' in tx!! (but done, so all good!)
Good luck ahead! This , as you know, it a hard battle, hang in there and realllyyyy hope your sides are tolerable, not to bad.

Maybe they should taper people off of the drugs like they do when you've been on steroids. Do they ever do that? I'm just on shot five so not much help here. Hope you get to feeling better. Ricki
