I think this is the right side to ask this question. Do men get hot flashes? Or is it maybe the combo of the drugs

No laughing matter here, Yes men can get hot flashes. My husband had extreme sweats at night and some in the day with his Hodgkins and hodgkins produces the sweats.  Also, some of the chemo chemicals cause hot flashes.  You are not crazy.  My hubby had them before diagnosis and also after starting chemo treatments and doing stem cell transfusion.  You body is fighting the disease as well as adjusting to all the chemicals going in your body.  But if you want peace of mind ask your doctor next time you visit.

I HATE hot flashes had them for years and they are not pleasant.

Good Luck,
Cajun

It is definitely the meds. I would get cold and hot depending on when I took my shot or how strong my flu-like symptoms were.
I told my hubby I would be controlling the thermostat as needed. ;-)

Hugs!!

Hi geterdone,
Look this is pretty common in the patients I treat and probably relates to the interferon.  HOWEVER, I also have the occasional patient who will experience these during episodes of increased viral replication.  Interestingly, I get some patients who have different illnesses (particularly Crohn's disease, for reasons I can't explain) experience these types of symptoms. These are not 'nutbags' but patients who's opinions I respect.  I am sure it is some physiological effect of the virus, perhaps mediated by causing the body to release interferon (or some other cytokine).
Cheers,
Sonic

they are from tx and I experience them 72 hours after my injection and they usually last 48 hours. My docs nurse told me to stay away from extremely hot situations, steam rooms, saunas, tanning beds, bikini shows etc.. Tylenol is what I take to relieve symptoms. However they are not hot flashes but if you feel bloated it is time to go see a gynacologist (if I spelled it wrong I have never been there, and if I spelled it right it was a lucky guess)

I don't think it's funny at all. It must be very uncomfortable. Maybe it will subside. I hope so. Best wishes to you.

I think a man would be able to answer that question better than a woman. I know "being hot" really bothered me during tx. I sweated dring the winter months, had hot flashes during the day and worse at night.
