On Methadone and diagnosed with Hep C

I am new to this hep c. I have genotype 1A. I have not done drugs or drank alcohol in 15 years, I must have gotten it that long ago. I am really scared about it and the methadone. I do not not know what to do. Any Feedback?

You do not have to be scared about HCV and methadone. Methadone will not make your liver disease worse. And methadone can be used safely if you decide to treat the hepatitis C. We are working on a new website funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. It is called Focus on Hepatitis C, an Online Source for Hepatitis and Opioid Treatment Programs. I will let you know when the site is open.

What you should do is find a doctgor who specializes in liver disease, either a hepatologist or gastroenterologist. You will need to learn how much damage, if any, your liver has sustained and make a decision about whether treatment is the thing to do or perhaps watchful waiting.
