Other side

It seems some time ago that I read that there is a prescription to help with sore throats.  I have been on Pegesys & CoPegasys for about 5 months.  LIke a lot of folks my skin is starting to look a bit reptilion and itches a lot but what bothers me more is that I seem to have a sore throat all the time and am worried that it might get worse.  Suggetions?

I have also had a sore throat and thrush in my mouth. I went to my GP, thought I had strepe, but tested neg. He gave me a  prescription of MAGIC MOUTH...it has to be mixed @ the pharmacy. It contains lydocain(maybe spelled wrong) I was also told it has benedryl and a couple other meds in it....tastes nasty but it's well worth it...you just use a little and swish and gargle and I leave it in my mouth a few minutes before spitting out. As for your skin..... I shower...and have cut back on those...just take a "bird bath" @ sink. But after I shower, while still wet, I rub Alpha-Keri bath oil on me and then pat off w/ towel. Alpha-Keri is about 16.00 a bottle, but it's a lot...and 2 bottles have lasted easy. I am 48 f I did shot #46 last nite!!! 2 to go!!! A challange I have almost won!!!! I continue to pray for all my wonderful HepC friends I have met through this forum....you guys are truely LOVED!!!!! ~Cindee~

I've had a sore throat off and on all throught tx so far. Guess I'm kind of use to it now after 8 months. It did get milder after 6 months for me. I believe this is a typical sx. Vaseline intensive care lotion twice a day really helped my skin. LL

I used a humidifier (SP) which really helped with the dry, sore throat.  Try increasing your fluids.  Also, I used Aveeno oatmeal products and they are the only ones that helped my dry skin. Don't dry off completely after your shower or bath (cool water to prevent more drying)apply Aveeno while your skin is still damp. It really helped me.  Dehydration is a side effect of both drugs so.....tank up!

The best thing that helped my sore throat and dry cough was a humidifier (and a huge amount of fluids each day)in my bedroom and livingroom.  Also, the dry skin thing.. never towel dry completely, apply Aveeno Oatmeal Lotion while your skin is still damp, but never use hot water, due to the fact that it will dry your skin even more.  God Bless and drink fluids until your back teeth float!!!
