My first shot was the worst, as far as those kinds of sides. In fact, no other shot was like the first. Since then it has just sort of been a long, hard slog.

Hi! Just thought I would chime in on the pain. Be SURE to drink your water! And to help with the sides, try Ensure or something like it. Don't use Slim Fast. It has too much fiber in it, unless you are having constipation. I went three days without Ensure and I felt like I had been run over by a truck. No energy, nausea, out of breath. Just generally crappy. Finally got some, and I felt like I could leap small buildings in a few jumps. Better than I had felt since I had run out of it. It helps with the pain from dehydration, also. As you go along, the cramps will get better. Keep moving as much as possible. Staying in bed makes the pain worse. I have neck and lower back fusions at multiple levels and I know about the pain. Just keep drinking water and when your stomach gets upset from so much water, drink Ensure. I use Equate from Wal-Mart. It's just as good and doesn't cost as much. Sure helps with the nausea.
Good Luck and hang on cause it is a long, strange trip to SVR.

Jill- I know how you feel, my legs hurt a lot after my first injection last Tuesday, I am going to inject again tomorrow (just when I was starting to feel "normal" again) because I need to back my injection day to Saturday. Everyone has said that the first it the worst so I will let you know Tuesday how the second one went.

I hope my post did not scare you Mother of three I did not intend for that to happen. It will be fine. You will see.

OHC:
Sorry to hear of your bloodwork. I responded to the Neupogen. I draw this week and if it is OK then maybe the booster type of TX with Neupogen is all I will have to do???? My RBC has been on the decline from week 1. Still OK just low.

I'm so sorry to hear about your pain. Each of us reacts differently. I'm just a patient did #8 last Friday. It sound like your body went into overdrive on fighting the dragon. The flu like systoms are common to most of us. I had it for awhile and now it has gone away. It came back for two weeks while my GI had me on Neupogen. Now its gone. Right now what I don't like is the rash and itch. These are also common. It's not fun but it is bearable. Keep in mind what the goal is and remind yourself its not going to be an easy road. We are all here doing the same thing. The sides will come and go. Fortuanately I haven't heard anyone say they all hit at the same time. God Bless You!!
